Our Community - Our Home
The FoxFarm family embraces a strong sense of community; many of us participate in local fundraisers and other volunteer activities. In addition, FoxFarm contributes generously to local organizations that support our community throughout Humboldt County.
North Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bowl For Kids Sake
North Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters’s mission is to give children facing adversity an opportunity to experience positive relationships that can change in their lives. NC-BBBS’s annual fundraiser is a night of bowling for pledges. FoxFarm Bowlers dress in silly costumes based on a theme as they bowl to support this great organization.
Discovery Museum Perilous Plunge
The Discovery Museum is a non-profit children’s museum of interactive exhibits that promote hands-on discovery in science, art, and technology. The goal is to foster a passion for exploration and learning. The Perilous Plunge is their biggest fundraiser of the year. FoxFarm employees assemble a team—in costume—to brave the very chilly waters of Humboldt Bay with a jump and a splash supported by pledge monies.
The Humboldt Area Foundation
The Foundation filters grants that work to improve our community. HAF scholarships acknowledge community involvement of local high school students. FoxFarm has contributed to the HAF scholarship fund to support students pursuing futures in horticulture and agronomy.
Local School Gardens
Many local schools have gardens where new generations of gardeners gain an appreciation of growing their own food. FoxFarm Soil & Fertilizer Company is proud to donate soil for such school gardens and other classroom projects.
Humboldt County's Annual Kinetic Grand Championship
FoxFarm has sponsored local painter and sculptor Duane Flatmo with his creative entries in the Kinetic Grand Championship. Humboldt County’s Kinetic Grand Championship is a 3-day race (of sorts) along California's northern coast from Arcata to Ferndale. Teams test their human powered all-terrain vehicles on Humboldt County's roads, dunes, beaches, and even into the waters of Humboldt Bay. The race is fun and brings people together through art and expression. For more about the race click here.
